We are looking forward to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) visit to our school on Tuesday. Four representatives of the DESE will be on campus visiting classrooms and meeting with students, parents, teachers, and Board members. This visit is part of the Charter Renewal process as information is gathered regarding the progress the school is making towards the school’s goals as stated in the Annual Report submitted each August. The specific areas which the group reports its findings on are Faithfulness to the terms of the school’s charter, Academic Program Success and Organizational Viability.
The 2009 MV Public Charter School’s Annual Meeting is scheduled for next Thursday, May 7, 6:30. All members of our community are encouraged to attend. The community will discuss and, hopefully, come to consensus on the 2009-2010 Budget and the new slate of Board Trustees.
Thank you to everyone who was able to complete the 2009 Parent Survey. The returns were informative about the school’s work and the feedback gives direction in setting goals and moving the school forward. Thank you for taking the time to complete this.
The 2009 Charter School Talent Show is scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 6:00PM, at the Chilmark Community Center. Talent is everywhere and everyone is welcome. Please contact Roberta Kirn if you would like to participate.
