PRECALCULUS

Precalculus 2009-2010 Course Outline

Teacher:  Calder Martin

This course provides the technical skills and concepts of precalculus.  The course begins with a review of algebraic fundamentals before branching into trigonometry, complex numbers, exponential and logarithmic functions, systems of equations and inequalities, sequence and series, analytic geometry, and probability.  These fascinating and interconnected topics are presented conceptually as well as in the form of real-world applied problems.  Second semester will focus primarily on Analytic Trigonometry.  Our textbook is “Precalculus – Mathematics for Calculus”, fifth edition, by Stewart, Redlin, and Watson.
